Don’t let your dog bring lyme ticks into your home
If you have dogs and live in an area where lyme disease is found it is vital to regularly check your dogs especially after taking them on walks to rural areas. This is to prevent them bringing lyme disease into your home. What you are checking for is ticks that have attached themselves to your dog as these can let go and infest your home and subsequently bite you and your family. Many people will ask ‘is lyme disease contagious?‘ but if your dog becomes infected it cannot give you the disease and if you contract it you cannot give it to somebody else it is only transmitted by infected ticks and their bites. If you keep ticks away from your home and if possible your dog too then there is nothing to worry about.
