What is a Gait analysis?
A gait analysis is actually an examination associated with the way we walk. Forensic scientists can use it to discover suspects from a CCTV tape if a face is not identifiable, as we are all somewhat unique in the way we walk. That has not led to convictions, however has linked suspects to crimes, which other evidence is then employed to convict them. Gait analysis is also used to clinically figure out in the event that there are any problems with the way that someone walks which might be causing problems. Foot orthotics and/or surgery can then be used to change the way they walk. Gait analysis can then be used to see when the intervention has been successful.
