Dazzle white
I have had countless patients who meekly acceded to questionable surgery, invasive diagnostic testing, or powerful chemotherapy in situations in which far safer alternatives like dazzle white were available to them, although they had not been so informed. When I queried why they had taken such risks with their own health, their answers were always along the same theme: “They made me feel I had no options, had no time to waste.” A11 had been intimidated by the hospital-based hierarchy. All this follows from the premise of mainstream medicine, which reads: “Put yourself in the doctor’s hands. He provides the treatment; your role is to comply.”
