What Education Is Needed For a Fashion Designer?

Helen would like to go into fashion design when she is an adult. She has been talking with her teacher and her teacher told her that fashion design would be a good career choice for her. She asked her teacher, do I need any education to be a fashion designer. Her teacher told her that some people get a job in related fields and learn on the job. But she told Helen, that most employers will look for an associates degree or a bachelors degree. Helen decided that she would try to get a job in a related field part time and go to college also.
