Cherry Sorting with a Machine
The most efficient way to sort fruit such as cherries, is to use a machine. To maximize time and reduce labor costs, a cherry sorting machine is the best thing to implement into your line. In the past, machines used a diverging roller that separated the different sizes of cherries. This method was harder on the fruit, causing it to bruise and blemish. The new technology in sorting is by a camera. The cherries are put into individual rolling cups where they have multiple pictures taken at each angle. Any blemished cherries are separated from the good ones so that only the best make it into packaging.
