With stunning sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and delicious food, Corfu is many holidaymakers’ idea of perfection. Corfu is famous as the setting of Gerrard Durrell’s My Family and Other Animals, an autobiographical work in which the famous naturalist describes his what it was like to grow up in Corfu before the Second World War.
